Tips for the End of the Year

Tips for the End of the Year

The end of the year is approaching and with it comes the time to contemplate how you can finish the year with a bang. If you’re having some difficulty coming up with ideas to help keep the office truckin’, here are some tips to finish the year out strong:

1. Send out a year-end letter to help ramp up and maximize the remaining benefits patients have.  This is an awesome way to boost your numbers in the fourth quarter before the holidays and finish the year strong.  Get the team excited, give them a goal, a little competition and then C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E!!! (when they knock it out of the park ?).  Your team feeds off your lead, your passion and your momentum – GO BIG or GO HOME!

2. Posting insurance using ERA.  This isn’t new, it’s been around for a few years now but I find that we humans are creatures of habit.  What’s the perfect definition of insanity????  That’s right…..doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result!!  So it’s time to shake things up, break out of your same-old-same-old and look at how you can take one small step toward more efficient use of your time when posting payments.  You can do it and you won’t even turn into a ?.

3. Lastly, how well do you know your numbers and what you are leaving on the table??  What patients fell through the cracks this year or 2 years ago or more ?.  Have you compared the number of new patients coming in the front door to the number of patients falling through the cracks that fall off your radar and have not scheduled back and 18 -24 months have Ffflllllowwn by???  Many times you will see that your “true growth” number for the month is NEGATIVE!  What can you do today to keep your existing patients from falling through the cracks??  Have a team meeting and focus on this.  Don’t know how to get these numbers? …….check out this video!
